At FUNdamental Pediatric Therapy, we help kids grow, learn, and connect through therapy that feels like play. We offer screenings, evaluations, and treatment for speech, language, reading, feeding, gross motor, fine motor, sensory-motor, and visual-motor challenges. We also support caregivers and community partners through education and training, because kids thrive when the people who love them are part of the plan.

At FUNdamental Pediatric Therapy, our occupational therapists turn everyday play into meaningful progress, helping children overcome barriers and build the skills needed to be independent and successful at home, at school, and in social settings.
Feeding Therapy
Mealtimes should be a time to connect, not a source of stress. At FUNdamental Pediatric Therapy, our feeding therapists take a gentle, child-led approach to help babies, toddlers, and children overcome feeding challenges, explore new foods, and build a positive relationship with food.
Reading Intervention
Every child deserves to read, learn, and grow with confidence. At FUNdamental Pediatric Therapy, our speech-language pathologists strengthen the building blocks of literacy, from sounds and letters to words and comprehension, helping children overcome challenges and discover a love of reading.
Meet The Owner
Michael Johnston, MCD, CCC-SLP, Founder & Owner
Hi, and welcome! I'm so glad you're here. I opened FUNdamental Pediatric Therapy in 2022 for three key reasons, and they continue to guide everything we do today.
First, for our therapists. I wanted to create a place where therapists are supported both professionally and personally. To me, real support and empowerment look like mentorship, flexibility, room to grow, and a team that always has your back. When therapists love what they do and where they do it, children and families feel the difference.
Second, for our community. Too many families in rural areas face long drives, long waitlists, and high out-of-pocket costs for pediatric therapy. By bringing care closer to home and accepting a wide range of insurance plans, we make high-quality therapy more accessible, so every child can get the support they need, no matter where they live.
Third, for our kids and families. I wanted to create a warm, welcoming space where children are excited to walk through our doors and families feel heard, supported, and included every step of the way.

Call your child’s pediatrician (or other specialist) or your family physician and ask them to fax a referral to us at 318-550-4058.

Once we receive the referral, our intake coordinator will call you and send over your new-patient paperwork.

Once your intake paperwork is complete, our scheduling coordinator will call you to set up your child's evaluation.
