As a student completing my clinical rotation at FUNdamental Pediatrics, I can genuinely say that my experience here exceeded every expectation. From day one, I was welcomed with warmth, support, and a deep commitment to learning—not just for the children who come through the door, but for students like me who are lucky enough to train here. The staff is not only incredibly knowledgeable and skilled in their craft, but they are also passionate about mentoring future occupational therapists. My clinical instructor, Lindsay, took the time to explain not just the “how” but the “why” behind every intervention, and constantly encouraged me to think critically, ask questions, and trust my growing clinical instincts. I always felt respected, supported, and empowered. The clinic itself is a bright, joyful space designed with kids in mind—sensory-rich, engaging, and tailored to meet a variety of developmental needs. I was able to observe and participate in therapy sessions that were creative, evidence-based, and always child-centered. Whether working on fine motor skills, sensory integration, or activities of daily living, the therapists found ways to make each session meaningful and fun for their clients. What impressed me most was the team’s dedication to family collaboration. I saw firsthand how they built strong relationships with parents and caregivers, providing education, encouragement, and continuity of care. It was inspiring to see how they celebrated every small victory alongside the families.
